Listed Exemptions
Approved list of Exemptions
from 1 September 2018
If you have completed one of
the qualifications listed in the CILEx Exemptions table, you
should use the Listed Exemption Form to apply for exemption. CILEx will confirm
eligibility for an exemption listed on the Exemptions Table within
10 working days. Please note that these
timescales are subject to receiving complete applications and may
change according to the complexity of applications and the volume
received at peak application times.
For those wishing to
become a graduate member of CILEx or who wish to undertake the
Graduate Fast Track Diploma please note the following:
Legal Practice
Course (LPC)/Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC)
If you have completed a
Legal Practice Course (LPC) or the Bar Professional Training Course
(BPTC) (formerly the Bar Vocational Course BVC) you can
apply for full exemption from CILEx qualifications and for CILEx
graduate membership.
Qualifying Law
Degrees
If you hold a qualifying law
degree* you can apply for exemption from the CILEx Level 3 Diploma
in Law and Practice and the Law units from the CILEx Level 6
Diploma in Law and Practice. You can then complete your academic
studies and gain graduate membership of CILEx by completing your
CILEx Graduate Fast Track Diploma( Level 6 Diploma in Legal
Practice) , consisting of Level 6 Client Care Skills unit and two
Level 6 Practice units (one of which must link to the subjects you
studied within your law degree).
*A qualifying law degree is
one recognised as qualifying by the Solicitors Regulation Authority

Fees
CILEx reviews its fees
annually. The fees set out on the listed exemption
table relate to applications for listed exemptions submitted
between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019.
