What is the alternative method for swearing an oath/making an
affidavit?
If the individual objects (on whatever grounds) to swearing they
can affirm. The individual making an affidavit should say:
“I [full name], do solemnly, sincerely and truly declare and
affirm that this is my name, and handwriting and that the contents
of this affidavit are true (if there are exhibits add: and that
these are the exhibit/s referred to).”
The individual making a statutory declaration should
say:
“I solemnly and sincerely declare that this is my name and
handwriting and that the contents of this statutory declaration are
true (if there are exhibits add: and that these are the exhibit/s
referred to).”
