Is CILEx an Approved Regulator under the Legal Services Act 2007?

CILEx was initially an Approved Regulator under Part 1 of Schedule 4 of the Legal Services Act 2007 in relation to the reserved legal activity of the administration of oaths and the exercise of a right of audience (the latter applying only to Chartered Legal Executive Advocates).

CILEx Regulation made applications to the Legal Services Board (LSB) to:

• authorise members to independently carry out reserved instrument activities (conveyancing) and probate activities;
• authorise members to independently provide immigration and litigation services with associated rights of audience; and
