About legal apprenticeships
Apprenticeships offer a comprehensive approach to skills enhancement, delivering immediate value to individual growth and team proficiency. This is achieved by seamlessly blending practical, on-the-job training with dedicated study, known as On-Programme Learning.
Working alongside experience staff within the company, apprentices acquire job-specific skills that complement the theoretical learning gained as part of their dedicated study programme.
Apprenticeships are a collaborative relationship involving the apprentice, employer, training provider and End-Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO).
The Apprenticeship Standards, developed by a collaboration of employers and subject matter experts, set out the knowledge, skills and behaviours essential for apprentices. These standards also serve as a guide for the day-to-day responsibilities within the apprentice’s job role.

End-Point Assessments are designed to specifically assess the knowledge, skills and behaviours detailed within the Apprenticeship Standards. CILEX is approved to offer a range of EPAs.
Level 3 Paralegal End-Point Assessment v1.2
Covering the key roles of a Paralegal role, this EPA is for you if you stated your apprenticeship before 30 June 2023.
Level 3 Paralegal End-Point Assessment v1.3
Learn how to provide legal administrative support, carry out research and draft legal documents and forms with v1.3. If you started your apprenticeship on or after 1 July 2023, this is the EPA for you.
Level 6 Chartered Legal Executive End-Point Assessment v1.0
Covering the skills and knowledge needed to handle legal matters, including giving legal advice in your chosen area of law. If you stated your apprenticeship before 14 June 2023, this is the EPA for you.
Level 6 Chartered Legal Executive End-Point Assessment v1.1
Updated to reflect the developing needs of the role of a Chartered Legal Executive, v1.1 opened on 14 June, so if you started your apprenticeship on or after then, this is the EPA you need.
Level 7 CLE Litigator and Advocate End-Point Assessment v1.0
Assessing you on the skills and expertise needed to work in areas of law that require presentation in court on family, civil or criminal matters.
