The information outlined on this page relates to the CILEX Level 6 Chartered Legal Executive End Point Assessment (EPA) version 1.1. I If you registered before 14 June 2023 you’ll need to refer to the Level 6 Chartered Legal Executive apprenticeship EPA version 1.0.

Key support resources

We’re in the process of developing some additional support resources to assist with planning and delivery of this EPA, but for the meantime, the below document has been provided to give you some additional details relating to this EPA.

Training providers must register apprentices, providing provisional gateway dates, with CILEX a minimum of 6 months before the apprentice reaches the gateway.

The EPA for this apprenticeship has a single component:

  • Portfolio of Evidence against the relevant CILEX Regulation Ltd Education Standard

This component is incorporated within the CPQ Professional stage, a qualification that is mandated as part of the On-Programme Learning element of the apprenticeship. The CPQ Professional Experience Portfolio (PEP) is the Portfolio of Evidence required for the EPA and must be completed before reaching the Gateway stage. Following submission, the Portfolio undergoes assessment by a CILEX Independent Assessor.

It’s expected that the full EPA process will take approximately 16 weeks. Starting from the confirmed Gateway date and concluding with the release of the results. This timeframe ensures a thorough review and evaluation of the EPA.
