National Apprenticeship Week 2018: apprenticeships work!

05 March 2018

Business people around computerThe theme for this year’s National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) 2018 is ‘apprenticeships work.’ During the week-long (5 to 9 March) celebration hundreds of events, including talks from current and former apprentices, will illustrate how apprenticeships work for individuals, for businesses, for communities and for the wider economy.

During NAW 2018, employers and apprentices from across England will come together to mark the success of apprenticeships and urge even more people to choose the apprenticeship route to a thriving career. CILEx Group has a long and proud association with NAW, which is in its 11th year, and supports and endorses this annual event.

Throughout the years, CILEx has established an ongoing commitment to the apprenticeship model, providing innovative legal apprenticeship programmes offering individuals the opportunity to develop on-the-job skills underpinned by a complementary off-the job training element.

Not only does CILEx provide qualification routes and inventive vocational and apprenticeship pathways to aspiring legal professionals, it demonstrates best practice in action as a local employer of those who have taken the apprenticeship route. At the time of writing, CILEx Group employs eight apprentices in various teams throughout the organisation.

Jill Culbert, Human Resources Officer at CILEx Group, said: “We are committed to developing local talent by creating apprentice vacancies to get people into the workplace. CILEx have employed apprentices for over seven years, and the majority of those who completed their apprenticeship qualifications transitioned to permanent jobs within CILEx Group.”
