ILEX welcomes Co-op ABS application

The Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) welcomes the news that Co-operative Legal Services (CLS) has applied to become an Alternative Business Structure and launched its biggest ever recruitment drive. A large proportion of the Co-op’s legal staff are trainee or qualified legal executive lawyers.

Speaking in the ILEX careers video, Managing Director of Co-operative Legal Services, Eddie Ryan says: I think the opportunity for Legal Executives working within the Co-operative Legal Services is immense. We do not grade people based on the qualifications that they have. We allow people to grow with the business and we have Legal Executives who are overseeing the work of fully qualified solicitors and Legal Executives who are team leaders within the business because they have got the skill-set that matches our requirements.”

This latest move will ensure CLS continues to provide access to quality legal services for a wide range of customers and will also create 150 jobs, which legal executive lawyers will be ideally suited for. We look forward to working with the Co-op to recruit our members into these exciting new roles.

You can hear more from Eddie and some of the trainee and qualified legal executive lawyers working at Co-operative Legal Services on the ILEX careers video, which is accessible from the ILEX website here.
