CILEx response to the Law Commission’s consultation on proposals for introducing the electronic execution of contracts and deeds, including suggestions for virtual witnessing and attestation.

Whilst CILEx recognises that technologically enabled legal services have the potential to improve the experience for the public and professionals, there is a concern that the electronic execution of documents could leave the system open to fraud and abuse.
