Mishcon to recruit apprentices

Mishcon de Reya to hire two legal apprentices

Leading law firm Mishcon de Reya is to take on two legal apprentices for its London office. The apprentices will follow the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services, one working with the Real Estate team and one with the Private department, specialising in contentious work. The apprentices will swap teams in the course of their training, to get exposure to both areas of work.

Mishcon de Reya was the highest ranking law firm in the Times Top 100 companies to work for in 2014. The firm sees the apprenticeship initiative as an opportunity to increase the diversity of its future pool of lawyers.

The recruitment of the two apprentices will be a pilot, which, if successful, may be extended across all departments.

Vanessa Dewhurst, Director of Human Resources at Mishcon de Reya, said: “We see our apprenticeship scheme as an excellent way of recruiting and training talented and ambitious individuals, and are keen to interview people who may not previously have considered applying to join us.

We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who received their A-Level results this week, and who may view this opportunity as an alternative to university”.

The apprenticeship training will be delivered by CILEx Law School.

Jenny Pelling, Business Director at CILEx Law School, said:

“School leavers around London who received their A Level results today should take note of this. Legal apprenticeships at Mishcon are an outstanding opportunity, and we’re looking forward to supporting the firm and the apprentices throughout the programme.”
