CILEx is its members. New Independent Members, with a wealth of external, commercial, educational and other expertise will bring a breadth of intellectual capital and practical experience to the way we will operate. But this must be harnessed by and anchored in our members’ experience, the reality of their working lives and supporting their professional development.

This is where you come in. CILEx is now actively seeking expressions of interest from members of the profession to join its new organisational structure. These are the following vacancies:

CILEx Professional Board This Board is the focus for member interests in the new structure in relation to representative activity, membership benefits and services, and CILEx’s role as a regulated provider of legal qualifications. Applications are particularly welcome from those members with lobbying and influencing experience and experience of the development of professional qualifications and support services.

CILEx Law School Board This Board oversees our commercial activity in the provision of training through CILEx Law School. Applications are particularly welcome from those members with commercial experience and/or the provision of legal qualifications or Apprenticeships.

Group Services Board Overseeing the support services for the whole CILEx Group, covering facilities, IT, telephony, printing, payroll, and HR, this Board will also manage the provision of such services to other professional associations and institutions on a commercial basis. Applications are also, therefore, particularly welcome from those members with commercial experience and entrepreneurial drive.

Appointments and Scrutiny Committee Responsible for non-executive selection and appointment, remuneration and performance within Group structure.

Qualifications Committee Provides oversight of CILEx’s education strategy, development and provision of qualifications, and compliance with Ofqual’s regulatory requirements. Applications are particularly welcome from those members with broad knowledge of the legal profession, government educational policy, and assessment methods.
