Regulation
All CILEx members are independently regulated by ILEX
Professional Standards Limited (IPS). This reassures employers,
clients and the public that they can trust CILEx members as
safe, competent legal practitioners.
IPS works closely with CILEx to ensure it carries out its work
in accordance with the principles of good regulation: proportional,
accountable, consistent, transparent and targeted.
IPS oversees the education, qualification and practice
standards of Legal Executives and other CILEx members and promotes
proper standards of professional and personal conduct.
IPS is led by a Board of Directors. The Board and staff of
IPS are committed to proportionate and transparent regulation in
accordance with the statutory objectives set out in the Legal
Services Act 2007.
