Being a part of the CILEx family gives you the protection of an organisation that is; a professional body, a front line regulator, an awarding body.

Being regulated by ILEX Professional Standards (IPS) is a first-rate membership benefit in itself. Regulations brings with it respect and recognition, it differentiates you from those in the legal profession that do not belong to a recognised professional body and ensures high standards of quality from CILEx professionals.

As a graduate of CILEx you will have the right to use specific lettering after your name. An Associate member has ACILEx, a Graduate member has GCILEx and a Fellow is known as FCILEx.

Be Involved

All CILEx members are encouraged to take an active role in their careers and the legal world. We will invite you to take part in government consultations, encourage you to get involved with your local CILEx branch activities and help you spread the word of your achievements through our case studies scheme.

Each year we reward outstanding members with the CILEX Medals, offering the opportunity to gain recognition for yourself and your firm. We also encourage you and sponsor external awards such as the Law Society's Legal Executive of the Year Excellence Award.

The CILEx Benevolent fund, a registered charity since 1960, can be applied for by any CILEx member facing difficult financial times.

Funded by CILEx for its members, LawCare offers FREE health support and advice. LawCare is a confidential advisory service created to support members and their  immediate family.

The CILEx Group's websites have been developed to both promote CILEx and benefit members. You can access legal jobs, student areas, back issues of the Journal, information and advice on current issues faced by legal professionals and training through the CILEx Law School.

You will also benefit from the national publicity created by the CILEx PR team on a variety of legal and educational issues.

The Award winning in-house Journal is delivered directly to every members home or workplace every month. The CILEx Journal covers topical and law reform issues ensuring members are kept informed and up-to-date of the latest news and events in an increasingly complex profession.

As a member you can sign up for the weekly CILEx email which contains a variety of information, from practical membership updates to awards and events you may be interested in. The email also contains the useful Job of the Week to assist you with your career.
