It’s official – the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) is backing The Lawyer Portal (TLP) to introduce a unique and definitive resource for anyone considering a career in law, whatever their stage or background.

Formally launched on 25 April 2017, TLP houses hundreds of pages of free guides, which have been carefully created by experienced lawyers and legal education professionals, and feature contributions from professional bodies and law firms.

The free guides track the various routes to legal practice and include helpful step-by-step guides to the study and practice of law, work experience and training opportunities – as well as how to tackle the notoriously tough application and interview processes.

Rachel Davis, Managing Director of TLP said of the partnership with CILEx: “we are delighted to have partnered with such a highly respected and reputable organisation.

“We look forward to showcasing not only the chartered legal executive profession but also working closely with CILEx on diversity and inclusion issues to ensure that these career pathways are accessible to all, whatever their background.

“Here at TLP, we strongly believe that anyone with great potential should have great opportunity and our platform aims to help make that belief a reality.”

Victoria Hurdley, Director of Development (CILEx) said of the partnership: “The Lawyer Portal will provide a valuable insight into various pathways for a career in law. Via the CILEx route you can become a qualified lawyer, without the necessity of obtaining a law degree and specialise in a particular area of law. For students, The Lawyer Portal provides an informative platform for those considering a future in the legal profession.”

The Lawyer Portal is the second platform created by The Career Portal. The group’s first venture, The Medic Portal, which is  partnered with The Royal Society of Medicine, has rapidly become a highly respected resource, used by 400,000+ aspiring medics and hundreds of schools across three continents.

With the backing of CILEx, The Career Portal is looking to replicate this success in the legal sector, ensuring that the best and the brightest individuals are exposed to all the fantastic opportunities available in law.
