EU Services Directive (2009)
The European Services Directive requires the Institute to
provide a range of information that is easily accessible to an
enquirer anywhere in the EU. The Institute complies with the
provisions of the Directive by supplying the required information
within the website. The website has a fully searchable database in
addition to clearly labelled menus on the left hand side of the
page. Contact numbers are provided to allow for telephone or e-mail
enquiries if further information is required.
The Institute has appointed ILEX Professional
Standards (IPS) as the regulator for the Chartered Institute’s
members.The IPS website can be viewed here.
Code of
Conduct information for members is available for public
viewing. A membership application form is available to download in PDF format, alternatively we
can send a printed PDF copy upon request to membership@cilex.org.uk
Applications for membership may be referred to
other parts of the Institute to ascertain the correct grade for the
applicant dependent on their legal education attainments.
Turnaround time for applications will be within 28 days of receipt
of a fully completed application with any required attachments.
Fees for the
relevant membership grade offered can be made using a debit or
credit card or a cheque drawn on a clearing bank in the UK.
